The Veil Sky Sentinel: Verified Abilities & Unlock Requirements
The Veil's Sky Sentinel kit checked ability by ability: passive bonuses, Ice Surge, Glacial Bastion, Skyight Guardians, plus unlock requirements and trainer access.
Sky Sentinel is The Veil's orderly-path summoner class. Its verified kit is built around summons: a passive that adds +10% summon damage, +10% summon life, and one extra summon at the cost of -10% resistance; an aura of wisp guardians; a healing, buffing ground-stomp; and a damaging ice dash that applies a slow. It is not a healing, ranged, or mobility class — descriptions of it in those roles are not backed by its observed mechanics.
Identity and unlock requirements
Sky Sentinel sits on the orderly path, and its counterpart on the Sins side is Cultist. Unlocking it takes three things:
- 30 Offerings — the orderly alignment currency earned through good deeds like quests and jailing outlaws.
- A class quest to kill five Angry Nimbuses. These only spawn while a rain world event is active: when it's raining on your server, Angry Nimbuses have a chance to spawn on you in the glade near the starter village. Grouping with other players speeds up the five kills.
- Payment to the trainer.
One creator calls the class extremely strong, but that is an opinion — not a tested tier verdict.
Verified kit
- Passive: +10% summon damage, +10% summon life, one extra summon, at the cost of -10% resistance.
- Ice Surge: a dash with an ice-spin AoE that deals damage and applies a slow. It is a damaging dash, not a major movement-speed boost.
- Glacial Bastion: a ground-stomp AoE that heals all active summons and grants them a 20% damage and resist boost — described as the class's strongest ability. Pressing the ability on the Sky Sentinel aura wisps also heals and buffs them; buffed wisps visibly glow.
- Skyight Guardians: an aura that summons a group of wisp guardians with high HP and strong damage.
- Summon stacking: the class can stack any summon in the game on top of its own summons. For example, the Nimbus Rod (dropped from Angry Nimbus kills) summons Nimbuses. With gear, five summons on the field at once is demonstrated, and further summon slots may be obtainable.
Exact scaling numbers beyond those quoted above are not confirmed.
Practical role as demonstrated
Demonstrated behavior supports a summon-centric kit only: persistent wisp guardians from the aura, external summons such as Nimbuses, healing and buffing of all summons via Glacial Bastion, and the damaging, slowing ice dash. On this setup, the creator reports killing the Eye of Cthulhu in under 10 seconds with all summons out. Nothing beyond these observed summon mechanics supports a healing, ranged, or mobility role label — check the kit in-game before building around any of those roles.
Reaching the trainer
- Find the Shimmering Sanctum, a maze location reached by roaming. There is no known guaranteed route, but it appears reliably while progressing through the maze.
- At the sanctum's teleport obelisk, an NPC asks for a gem — hold out and hand over a gem to be teleported to Sky Island.
- On Sky Island, grab the teleport obelisk in the small cave so the gem quest isn't needed again, then find the trainer nearby.
- Pay 30 Offerings and complete the five Angry Nimbus quest (rain world event required for spawns), and the class is granted.
Class-system context
Sky Sentinel appears in the community-documented class list (not an official one; only Berserker, GODSEEKER, FLORIST and "sentinel" trace to a developer video title). Classes come in super and ultra tiers. An ultra class is one per character and cannot be mixed with other classes' abilities; out of combat you can re-equip your ultra class or swap super hybrids freely, and hybrid loadouts forfeit the pure class's stat buff. A wrong ultra pick can only be undone via the reset NPC Kharvos, whose trade cost is not yet confirmed — factor that uncertainty into your decision to pursue this class.
