The Veil Weaving Guide: How to Weave and What the Bonus Gives

Learn how weaving works in The Veil, how successful back-to-back weaves stack, and the confirmed bonuses at five weaves.

Weaving is The Veil's core defensive combat mechanic, and it is not a parry. Although the input may look like a parry placeholder, weaving is its own system. You perform a weave by pressing F, and a weave is judged successful when you chain weaves back-to-back — consecutive successes are what count, not a single isolated input.

How weaving stacks work

Each successful back-to-back weave adds a stack, up to a maximum of five weaves. Once you reach five successful weaves, you enter a boosted state with the following confirmed bonuses:

  • You deal 25% more universal damage.
  • You gain more universal speed.
  • "Universal" means any damage type — melee damage, summon damage, or cast (staff/magic) damage all benefit.

Tips for practicing

Since stacking depends on consecutive successes, your goal when practicing is to land weaves back-to-back rather than intermittently. Watch for the in-game feedback on each weave attempt to confirm whether it registered as a success, and build from one successful weave to a chain of five. The exact timing window for the F input isn't pinned down to precise frames here, so rely on the game's success feedback while training your rhythm in real fights.

Racial modifiers

Racial differences that interact with weaving — such as the Veilborne relationship to the mechanic — are covered on the Veilborne profile page. Everything described above is the baseline system that applies regardless of race.

Practice the F-key weave in combat until the success feedback is consistent, then work toward five back-to-back weaves to trigger the 25% universal damage and speed boost.
